
Marc Wahl
Biography
Marc Wahl joined the 性吧导航 Board of Directors in September 2024. He is currently the Turnaround Leader at the NOVA Chemicals Joffre Site and has over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas and petrochemicals industries.
Marc grew up in the Peace River region. He started his career as a journeyman millwright in 2005 at Albian Sands Energy Inc. Over the next 17 years, Marc鈥檚 career grew from hands-on technician to frontline supervision, all the way to leadership and the development of high-performing teams.
Marc鈥檚 time at Albian spanned two acquisitions: one by Shell in 2008 and one by Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) in 2017. Following the 2017 acquisition, Marc was promoted from Turnaround Event Manager to Operations Superintendent for the Muskeg River Mine. As the asset owner, Marc took the flagship production site to unprecedented production and reliability levels. Marc continued in this role for five years before pursuing a new opportunity in Central Alberta.
In 2022, Marc joined NOVA Chemicals as the Turnaround Leader for the Joffre Site. The challenge before him was clear: unleash the Turnaround Team鈥檚 capability to plan, execute, and deliver multimillion-dollar plant turnarounds (planned shutdowns) safely, on time, and on budget. Marc鈥檚 hands-on approach, ability to connect corporate goals to meaningful personal objectives, and relentless commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes led him to develop and sustain a high-performing team that did鈥攁nd continues to do鈥攋ust that.
In 2024, the Joffre Turnaround Team, in partnership with hundreds of other NOVA employees and contractors, successfully delivered not one but two major turnarounds on site. Both events were completed safely, came in on time, and finished within budget. This was the largest undertaking for the Turnaround Team in the history of NOVA Chemicals.
Marc thrives on unleashing people鈥檚 talents and inspiring them to achieve more than they thought possible. He truly believes that an organization鈥檚 greatest asset is its people, and it shows in the way he collaborates, communicates, and leads. Marc鈥檚 experience and versatility allow him to easily work at a strategic level with senior leadership, and to also work comfortably side-by-side with tradespeople at all hours on a nightshift.
Outside his professional career, Marc is the proud father of three incredible daughters. He adores spending time with them and enjoys working on his hobby farm near Innisfail. Marc is also an avid biohacker and fitness enthusiast. He loves chasing the sunrise on early-morning runs and recently started running marathons.
