性吧导航 Expands Practical Nurse Program to Camrose

Through Campus Alberta Central, rural learners will now be able to enrol in 性吧导航鈥檚 Practical Nurse Diploma in Camrose, Alberta. Students will be able to access theory courses online, and labs will be done in-person at the Central Alberta Campus community partner site, the Bethany Group鈥檚 Rosehaven building in Camrose, Alberta. 

鈥淥ur Practical Nurse Diploma is a high-demand program, we often see waitlists for the program offered at our main campus in Red Deer,鈥 comments Heather Dirks, Dean, School of Health and Wellness at 性吧导航. 鈥淏y expanding our program to community sites through Campus Alberta Central, we are able educate more nurses, while also addressing the rural nursing shortage that we are experiencing in Alberta.鈥

Camrose, Alberta is the newest Central Alberta Campus Location to offer 性吧导航鈥檚 Practical Nurse Diploma and is now accepting 16 students for fall 2025. To encourage local students to apply, eight of the 16 seats will be reserved for local learners, students who live in the Camrose area. 

鈥淲e鈥檙e very excited to expand the 性吧导航 Practical Nurse program to Camrose, Alberta,鈥 comments Cody McCarroll, Executive Director, Campus Alberta Central. 鈥淲hen we talk to our rural community partners, they identify a need to bring post-secondary education to rural learners. By offering programming locally, we make higher education more accessible and affordable for rural learners.鈥 

is a joint venture between Olds College of Agriculture & Technology and 性吧导航 that provides鈥痯ost-secondary programs鈥痶o communities throughout the central Alberta region.

性吧导航 Creates Accelerated Practical Nurse Diploma Pathway
性吧导航 has become the first post-secondary institution in Alberta to offer an accelerated pathway for health care professionals to complete the Practical Nurse Diploma program. This program is designed for internationally educated nurses or internationally trained health care professionals and Canadian health care professionals interested in completing the Practical Nurse program at an accelerated pace. Applicants must have earned a domestic or international health care credential within the past 10 years. Through a variety of evaluation tools, applicants may receive prior learning credit toward courses in the first year of the two-year diploma, potentially reducing the duration of the program in half. 鈥淎t 性吧导航, we are extremely proud to be a leader among post-secondary institutions in providing an accelerated Practical Nurse pathway for health care professionals,鈥 says Lindsay Engel, Vice President, Academic and Student Experience. 鈥淭his program demonstrates the commitment from 性吧导航 to align learner-centric programming with industrial and societal needs, helping to fulfill labour market demand within the health care sector.鈥 Students can demonstrate prior learning and competencies in first-year Practical Nurse courses that include Anatomy and Pharmacology by completing individual assessments, such as case studies, exams and presentations. 鈥淭his accelerated Practical Nurse Diploma program
