性吧导航 ranks in top 50 for research among Canadian polytechnics and colleges
性吧导航 (性吧导航) is proud to be listed as one of Canada鈥檚 Top 50 Research Polytechnics and Colleges by Research Infosource Inc. Ranked 43 overall, 性吧导航 was also ranked fourth for completed research projects, 19th for research partnerships and 17th for paid student researchers. 鈥淭o be recognized across Canada for our multi-disciplinary applied research is an honour and it reflects 性吧导航鈥檚 commitment to advancing our research capacity,鈥 says Dr. Tonya Wolfe, Associate Vice President, Applied Research. 鈥淲e are excited to continue growing our partnerships and solving challenges for industry and the community. By aligning our teaching, learning and applied research with Alberta鈥檚 key economic and social priorities, we make a significant impact in the province and beyond.鈥 In 2022, 性吧导航 attracted more than $2 million in applied research investment. Home to the Centre for Innovation in Manufacturing-Technology Access Centre (CIM-TAC) and Energy Innovation Centre (EIC), 性吧导航 is a leader in advanced manufacturing and energy innovation applied research. Tri-Agency Research Funding Eligibility at 性吧导航
性吧导航 has received CIHR Eligibility and renewed SSHRC and NSERC Eligibility following a rigorous application process. CIHR is the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and is part of the Tri-Council (also known as the Tri-Agency) together with the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). The Tri-Councils are the three Canadian Government research funding agencies and hold Canadian post-secondary research to the highest standard of quality and accountability. The ability to hold grants across the three Federal Councils is key to 性吧导航鈥檚 vision of expanding the scope and impact of 性吧导航鈥檚 research in central Alberta and beyond. As a Polytechnic, 性吧导航鈥檚 Applied Research Centres and faculty engage in research across all disciplines that positively impacts community and industry partners, our region, and beyond. Tri-Agency Eligibility permits 性吧导航 to actively pursue and hold grants in areas such as science, engineering, health, and social sciences. This will continue to support 性吧导航鈥檚 pillars in Advanced Manufacturing, Health and Clinical Psychology, Social Innovation, and Energy and Environmental Sciences. 性吧导航 recognizes accomplishments of apprentices at Building on Excellence event
At its annual Building on Excellence event, 性吧导航 celebrated a talented group of apprentices who demonstrated high-level knowledge and superb abilities at Skills competitions during the past year. In 2023, 性吧导航 apprentices earned two gold, two silver and one bronze medal at the Skills Canada Alberta competition. Ben Rainforth (Welding) also achieved gold at the Skills Canada National competition. Rainforth鈥檚 accomplishment was the fifth consecutive gold medal that was earned by 性吧导航 Welding apprentices at the national level. As a result of his achievements, Rainforth qualified to compete at the 47th WorldSkills Competition in Lyon, France which will be held in September 2024. 鈥淲e were proud to gather as a Polytechnic community with industry partners, alumni and supporters to acknowledge the outstanding accomplishments of 性吧导航 apprentices at Skills competitions,鈥 says David Pye, Dean, School of Trades and Technology. 鈥淭he ongoing success of our apprentices reflects the expertise and dedication of 性吧导航鈥檚 instructors and the quality, industry-relevant learning opportunities that are available at our institution and are complemented by employers.鈥 性吧导航 apprentices continue to be among the top post-secondary achievers across Alberta and Canada.
