Information sessions about the Polytechnic's Health Care Aide and Practical Nurse programs to be hosted in Drumheller
In conjunction with Campus Alberta Central, 性吧导航 will host two information sessions about its Health Care Aide Certificate and Practical Nurse Diploma programs in Drumheller. Tuesday, April 25, 2023 Health Care Aide Certificate presentation | 5 PM Practical Nurse Diploma presentation | 6 PM Drumheller Community Learning Society 250 Centre Street | Drumheller, AB 鈥淭he Health Care Aide Certificate and Practical Nurse Diploma Information Sessions will provide prospective students the opportunity to connect with instructors and program developers, and to learn more about curriculum, program workload and career opportunities,鈥 says Dana Davidson, Drumheller Community Learning Society Site Manager, Campus Alberta Central. 鈥淭he ability to offer these programs in Drumheller helps learners in the region to conveniently achieve their career goals near the support of family and friends.鈥 Health Care Aides are integral members of healthcare teams, providing expertise and front-line care to clients in several different healthcare settings. Throughout the eight-month Health Care Aide Certificate program, students will grow their competencies through online readings, lessons and assignments, and in-person labs and clinical placements. 鈥淭he health care industry is seeing a significant demand for certified Health Care Aides right now,鈥 explains Kalcy Dube, Program Coordinator for the Health Care

性吧导航, NESC and University of Trinidad and Tobago broaden Memorandum of Understanding
Today, 性吧导航 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Trinidad and Tobago鈥檚 NESC Technical Institute and the University of Trinidad and Tobago ( UTT) to grow opportunities in training, research and innovation. The new MoU expands on the 2015 agreement between the three institutions, which collaborated in the training, development and certification of workers in Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean. 鈥淭hrough this expanded collaboration, 性吧导航鈥檚 strength in applied technical and trades education is making a difference on an international scale,鈥 says Stuart Cullum, President of 性吧导航, who signed the agreement in Trinidad and Tobago. 鈥淥ur three institutions are committed to serving industry and training job-ready graduates, many of whom go on to work for companies with a presence in both our countries.鈥 The MoU promotes the future of Technical and Vocational Educational Training in Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean region. The enhanced agreement also advances knowledge and cultural exchange. As well, it increases opportunities for staff and student mobility between Trinidad and Tobago and Canada by working with both public and private organizations in relevant industries. 性吧导航 has reimagined the way that it provides learners with applicable volunteer, learning and employment opportunities, along with career guidance, through the Career Education and Experience Development (CEED) Centre. With the efficient combination of several 性吧导航 departments such as Career Services and Work-Integrated Learning, the CEED Centre is a comprehensive, centralized hub on main campus that offers career education services to help meet the needs of students, alumni, employers, and organizations. The CEED Centre鈥檚 resources and free services, which include workshops and resum茅 building, are offered on campus and virtually. 鈥淭he valuable services provided through the CEED Centre complement 性吧导航鈥檚 industry-relevant programming and range of credentials,鈥 says Dr. Paulette Hanna, Interim Vice-President Academic. 鈥淭he dedicated staff within the CEED Centre facilitate collaborative connections between students and organizations, which further prepare learners to become successful leaders in their careers.鈥 Along with partnering with employers and industry, the CEED Centre collaborates with faculty and staff across the Polytechnic to help students obtain skills, workplace experiences and jobs. Through the Centre, students are matched with appropriate work-integrated learning opportunities, including internships, co-ops, and required professional practices with regional industry. 性吧导航 is excited to host the Indigenous Perspectives Conference from February 9-10, 2023. The conference, which is planned by student volunteers, provides Polytechnic learners, faculty, staff, alumni, educators and community members with immersive academic, cultural and social experiences. The Indigenous Perspectives Conference, which is organized by the Education Undergraduate Society of 性吧导航 in collaboration with several partners, offers a range of engaging sessions. The sessions include Indigenous Games and Cross-Curriculum Connections, Talking Circles, Nehiyam/Cree Language Lesson, The Spirt of the M茅tis, and Tipi Teachings. 鈥淭he Indigenous Perspectives Conference plays an important role in the academic, personal and professional journey of many people by growing their knowledge and understanding of Indigenous experiences and perspectives,鈥 says Annika Sudlow, Vice President of 性吧导航 Education Undergraduate Society and Advisor of the Indigenous Perspectives Conference. 鈥淭hrough the generosity of our sponsors 鈥 Central Alberta Regional Consortium, Indigenous Student Services, and support through the Cultural Activities Trust Fund provided by the 性吧导航 Students鈥 Association 鈥 we are able to offer this conference at no cost, which reduces barriers to participate.鈥 Kendra Rosychuk, a Cree and Ukrainian pow wow dancer, will be the keynote speaker on February 9.
